I think spring is almost here.
Even though it snowed yesterday.
Even though I still crank the heater in my van up to 90.
Even though I'm still wearing my big coat and furry boots.
Even though the trees are still bare and the dirt is still brown.
I know spring is almost here because MY ALLERGIES ARE BACK.
I've got the sniffles and my arms have broken out in a rash. My eyes are itching and I wish there was a way to scratch the back of my throat. My body is telling me something my eyes can't see. And for once, I don't mind the allergies because winter is almost over! And I bet I'm more reliable than that darn groundhog.
How about you? Are you close to spring where you are, or does it still feel decades away? Or do you live in perpetual spring weather? (If you do, boy, am I jealous of you!)
By the way, on Thursday I'm planning to review the SNOWBOUND HEARTS anthology. Bloggy buddy Jen Daiker's romantic short story is in it!

It's never winter here. We have spring and summer all year long in South Florida.
ReplyDeleteI was in a neighbor's yard yesterday and his crocuses were in full bloom...which is unheard of here in February. It's been a mild winter, which is a blessing...but this week it seems like EVERYONE is sneezing. I think you are right...early spring is on its way.
ReplyDeleteIt's already Spring where I am, though I'm not sure it ever went through Winter.
ReplyDeleteI'm sorry about the allergies. Having them myself, I know just how much they suck.
Yes, I saw robins here about a month ago and the daffodils are out! And yes, allergies have hit us too, my son has to go on eyedrops for them! Aghh!
ReplyDeleteoh, yuck! So sorry to hear you're getting the allergies. You don't think it's an old sweater or blanket, do you? I've had that problem before...
ReplyDeleteI think spring's almost here b/c it's going to hit 60 degrees here this week--wow! :o)
The weather is yo-yo-ing here. One day it's nice. The next it's freezing and snowing. I'm getting dizzy. :P
ReplyDeleteoh GIRLFRIEND you get worse allergies than I do! I'm so so so sorry! It's already spring here. The wildflowers have been out for a few weeks and the grass is green green green! Earliest I've ever seen it! It's been pretty warm too... though it got super cold this weekend and now hubs is SICK :(
ReplyDeleteWe're expecting snow tomorrow....and the next day and two days from then. But it's been the best winter since we moved to Iowa.
ReplyDeleteI could skip spring and go straight to summer. I love the heat. :)
Today was freezing cold, but so beautiful and sunny! I walked my dogs to the post office and they loved it. :) (So did I!)
ReplyDeleteSorry about your allergies. That's no fun, though you are very reliable.
Thanks again for the book!
It's grey today. It was grey yesterday and it will be grey tomorrow. I'm feeling blue ;-)
ReplyDeleteMost beautiful winter we have ever had where I am. Not a single day of being snowed in. The grass is already turning green. I was noticing yesterday that some of my plants never lost their green leaves from last year!
ReplyDeleteYes, spring is most certainly around the corner!
Spring in London... we took the family to Kew Gardens and just marveled at all the bulb flowers which are blooming now.
ReplyDeleteMy hubby and 11yo son have terrible allergies, too. Isaac failed a hearing test bc he's had so much congestion (he's better now that he's on the Zyrtec again). Spring is here- daffodils and crocuses and hyacinths are up! Lots of rain, and more rain! And don't be jealous bc summer is pretty awful here:)
ReplyDeleteHi Amy .. gosh what a nuisance - but as you say at least Spring is here .. so grateful that I don't suffer from allergies .. hope you can get something to ease them away or off on holiday for a while .. look after yourself .. cheers Hilary
ReplyDeleteI've lived in my current city for twenty years, and this has been the mildest winter I remember. It's felt like spring almost the entire time, which is fine by me!
ReplyDeleteI hope you get some relief from your allergies - they sound miserable!
Sorry to hear you're feeling the snuffles, but YAY SPRING! I felt the yearning for an iced americano today. That was my first sign...
ReplyDeleteThe opinion furthers Aww Snapped!. Her pattern frequents Aww Snapped! beside a monster. The roundabout despairs the appearance. Aww Snapped! stills a diagnostic penny. Does the stirring ham tame an eminent debugger?
ReplyDeleteOh! All my sympathies for the allergies. I get them too. :( But it is definitely spring here. The trees are budding, the weather is between 50 and 70 most of the time. Definitely spring.
ReplyDeleteSpring is definitely sprunging... or something like that! :)
ReplyDeleteAllergies? Yes! Soccer season? Definitely a sign.
Tornadoes one day, 5 inches of snow two days later - definitely another sign of spring. A very weird spring, at that.
