Bye bye, Mom & Dad!

My parents left yesterday morning. *Sniff, sniff* It was so fun having them here.

I've posted a few pictures to document our time together.

My mom and dad hangin' with the grandkids.

My two moms: Mom & Mom-in-Law

My mom and Sophie reading ... if you look closely you can see our luxury cat asleep on my mom's chest.

My Dad took Sophie up the mountain behind our house every other morning. She'd wake up and say, "Pa-pa, pack-pack!" She loved riding in style. He enjoyed the extra work out. Yeah, he's one of those super in-shape people.

Admittedly, this one is not a picture of my parents, but it is a pretty cute shot of my son and our luxury cat, Midnight. I couldn't resist including it.

Thanks for looking! We're heading into the weekend already.
Any big plans?

  1. My husband has had a Monday-Wednesday-Friday running routine throughout the summer, and on the off days (Tuesdays and Thursdays), he's walked. My three-year-old wanted to go with him on his walks, so he started taking my son to the store on Thursday mornings to get "a doughnut or a muffin." Now I-gots expects it, and every morning he wakes up and asks my husband, "We go to store?"

  2. Krista, how cute! And good for your husband, keeping in shape. Though I guess the doughnut or muffin probably cancels those Thursday morning walks... ha ha! Just kidding. Do you guys have a baby jogger? We have a double one and I love taking the girls out in it (in cooler weather, that is).

  5. Danica, My mom is planning a trip back in January to help me after our new baby's born, so maybe you guys can coordinate times. :)

Esther, That was my Cabbage Patch from when I was little. My mom brought them over from Hong Kong with her so I could have them back. So, I guess you and I had the same Cabbage Patch! His name's Benjamin. The other one is Josephine. :) Yeah, I played with dolls until I was about fourteen. Ha ha!!

  8. What's a "luxury cat?" Your Midnight looks very much like our MIdnight.

  10. Myrna,

He's just luxurious, that's all. Lies on his back on our laps, purring like crazy. Does your Midnight have rumpled fur, too? I found out that our Midnight might be descended from a rare breed of cat that originated in Oregon called a LaPerm. Seriously. The long-haired versions have curly hair and the short haired versions just look kind of ripply and fuzzy all over. I thought he had really unusual fur when we got him, so I did some research. Hey, if he's a rare breed, it makes him even more luxurious! :)

Thanks, Molly & Catherine! Thanks for taking the time to look at my pictures. hee hee.

Danica, That would be cool if it works. :)

  11. Nope, hers is straight and soft and shiny, but her eyes are the same color as your Midnight's.

  12. Myrna, Sleek cats are beautiful. Our little guy looks scruffy all the time. I just like to think of him as a particular breed because it's sort of ironic. Have you read that Henry and Mudge book about the cat that has a coat like mashed prunes? -- that's our Midnight. :) Fun that our cats have the same name.
