It's Okay

My blog has been so quiet lately, hasn't it?

And that's okay. Because my kids and my husband have all been home. It's been Christmas. Now it's New Years. I'm having a baby sometime in the next three weeks.

Priorities, right?

And you guys probably needed a break reading my blog, too, because you're all out living your lives and enjoying your families or hobbies or traditions.

This is a post to tell you that I have to keep reminding myself every day that it's okay not to be blogging. In my heart I know it's okay not to be blogging. And I know you all know it's okay for me not to be blogging.

So we're all okay with each other, right?

And, lest I forget...

HAPPY NEW YEAR!
~I hope your 2011 is blessed beyond measure.~

(Tomorrow I'm planning to post a book review because I just finished Jellicoe Road, which is definitely a blog-worthy book. But we'll see how those intentions pan out because, technically, it's still vacation around here.)

  2. Happy New Year, Amy!

Quiet is nice, isn't? You deserve a nice, quiet break with your family. Don't feel a bit guilty about not blogging. We'll be here when you're ready :)

Looking forward to your review of Jellicoe Road. It's on my TBR list.

  4. Hi Amy, Happy 2011 to you!
What an exciting year, and time, for you.
It is okay, whatever you do is ok, posts, no posts, all is ok.
Just enjoy and relax into these last days/weeks before your new baby arrives. Look forward to that update, and best of luck in the meantime, mimi

  7. Yes, it's ok to NOT be blogging! I fretted about a lack of post on my blog last Tuesday, but you know what? The world kept spinning.

You're a busy woman with lots of priorities. Take care of YOU! And happy new year!

  8. I know what you mean about blog-worries. I've never tried to blog every day but if I haven't blogged for a week I feel really twitchy and guilty. It's silly, isn't it. Good luck with the baby and don't worry about us lot. We'll still be around.

  9. Hi, Amy! Everyone needs to recharge their batteries, and it's awesome you're spending time with your family. That's so important! I felt a little funny about taking a blog break (and mine was quite long), but it really was the best thing for me. And everyone totally understood.

I hope you have a wonderful 2011! Can't wait to hear about the baby!

  10. first visit to your blog which is quite lovely...
I used to worry about taking breaks until I realized that I felt such relief when others did it and thought that they might also feel relief when I do. Because there are so many wondrous blogs, and so much real life to be lived. I'll drop by now and then - no worries from me! A baby - wow. Good.
