WiP Wednesday: Maybe, Possibly, Hopefully....

It's been about four years since I've written one of these posts.

Okay, I exaggerate, but it has been awhile. Months and months, I think.

So, where am I with my WiP?

I'm doing a hard-copy edit and feeling pretty good about it. I'm finding a lot of little things to tweak, but nothing plot shattering. So far, I am really enjoying the hard-copy edit. I find that it gives me a better sense of the flow of the novel. I'm not sure why that is, but so far that's what I've discovered.

Because the hard-copy edit is going so well, maybe, possibly, hopefully (yay for adverbs!) I'll be ready to query this baby in the next month or two.

*Deep breath*

Spring may be a good time to query. The sun is out. The weather is warm. If you're feeling bad about rejections you can go outside and get over yourself. Right? So, that's my plan. Start in spring.

How are your WiPs going? Any query plans in the works?

  2. Good luck, Amy.

I'm doing a hard edit on my WIP before I send it to my CPs. This is keeping me busy while I wait to hear back on requested material. Eventually I'll get back to querying, but I keep forgetting to send them out. Editing is much more fun. :)

  3. Good for you, Amy!

I'm still editing. Praying that by the end of the year I'll be ready to start that process...but we'll see.

  4. All the best with your editing and querying! That must feel so wonderful to know there's nothing "plot-shattering" to worry about! :)

  6. I need one last rewrite of the first chapter and then it's ready to go. (I think.)

  7. I'm so excited to follow your journey to publication, Amy. Praying for you! I can't wait to celebrate with you.

My W.I.P.'s are in first draft. My nonfiction book took five years to write. So maybe I'll catch up with you in 2016? **Sigh**

  8. That's fantastic, Amy! If you need anything, let me know.

Star Swans is still sitting, and I'm almost done with my first draft of The Binder's Web. I think I'll run it through another draft, and then I'll dive back into Star Swans.

  10. I love printing it out. Having that big stack of paper makes all the work I've put in seem real. Have fun with your paper edits! Let me know if you want me to read through it. Is this the same project we traded pages on about a year ago?

  12. I found my next query (small publisher), but now I actually have to finish my edit, or at least get a few more chapters in and have a really great synopsis.
