I'm always parched with thirst in the morning when I wake up.
So I've gotten in the habit of leaving a glass of water by my bed.
This morning I woke up and glugged my water. I was about half-way through my glass when I looked down....
And saw about six gnats floating in it.
I don't know how many bugs I drank.
Extra protein? Any other positive ways to spin this? Leave them in the comments.
And have a fantastic day!

Summer Recap
Summer!! has been a crazy whirlwind. Are we actually starting school again in a few weeks? UNBELIEVEABLE. In the middle of June I finished...

I'm glad I read Criss Cross by Lynne Rae Perkins. She captures something about the beginnings of adolescence, something intangible. I ...

LOL. I've eaten a few bugs in my time, too, and I never seemed to be able to console myself with either of my parents' reactions...
ReplyDeleteMom always said, "Extra protein!" and Dad said, "It makes you tough...puts hair on your chest!" :)
But the eternally positive spin: someday you can put this in a book!
Um, what doesn't kill you, will make you stronger. LOL
ReplyDeleteWell, up here (Maine) you can't walk outside without swallowing/inhaling a few black flies. So it can't be too bad for you! ;-)
ReplyDeleteMaybe there were only were 6 flies to begin with and you didn't swallow any. LOL, that's what I'd tell myself anyway.
ReplyDeleteI always wondered why my great aunt placed a napkin over her glass at night.
Now I know why.
Um...maybe you could point out that in many countries bugs are a delicacy. You should read BEETLE MCGRADY EATS BUGS to your kids. They will love it.
ReplyDeleteOh man! *Shivers*
ReplyDeleteI'd go the extra protein spin for sure. :)
protein was exactly my thought, after a large shudder!
ReplyDeleteneeds a positive spin allright!
This is why I keep a bottle of water by my bed instead.
ReplyDeleteI once drank half a cup of hot cocoa from one of those coffee-tea-cocoa vending machines before realizing that I was drinking dead ants. They must have gotten into the sugar inside the machine.
Now you can say: "Been there. Done that."
ReplyDeleteRunning in the evenings, I've accidently swallowed gnats before, and I haven't noticed any side effects. It's all good, right?"
I've done that too. It's better not to know. If you had drank them all, you would never have known!
ReplyDeleteSorry, I have no positive things to say about drinking bugs :) It's happened to me as well and I can't stand it.
ReplyDeleteOh no!!! That's so icky! I've heard of eating bugs, but I'd rather not drink them in my water! Try a water bottle :)This happens to me as well, but they are mosquitoes and beatles. Thus the reason I've invested in probably 100 water bottles.
