Delicious Fall

It's unmistakeably fall in the Yakima Valley.

Every year my in-laws make grape juice from the grapes they grow in their back yard.
Here's a sampling. (I wish I could give you a real sampling!)
This stuff is so good, so healthy, so delicious.

And of course my in-laws have too much to drink all by themselves, so they share with us. Yay!

Do you have any traditions or hobbies you enjoy only in the fall?

Just for fun, here's a picture of the cool clouds we had over our valley yesterday.

Have a wonderful, colorful, delicious day!

  3. Such a beautiful picture . . . and yummm about the grapes. My parents have grape vines in their backyard, and they make the homemade stuff too. But alas, I am too far away to taste it. :(

  5. My goodness what an amazing place you live in. :)

Sadly, my fall traditions include pumpkin crunch cake, pumpkin bread, pumpkin bagels with pumpkin spice cream cheese.... lots of carbs... hahaha

  7. My in-laws used to make grape juice, too, but they stopped when the kids all grew up. I helped them once. It was fun to make and delicious to consume.

I only make my favorite kind of pie in late summer and early fall because that's when we get fresh peaches. And then there's that soccer coaching thing I do in the fall.

  9. Fall is so beautiful in WA. We do apples and cranberries. Yup, it seems that all our traditions are food-related :)

Fall in SC is gorgeous. Very pleasant, cool mornings and evenings, warm days. I've gone to the beach just to walk and lovelovelove the sound of the waves. Great for collecting shells. Don't know what traditions we'll come up with here, but I suspect it'll have something to do with seafood.

  10. That does look delicious! We used to go apple picking every fall, but last time I went my bill was nearly $100 so we haven't gone since.

  11. Oooh, yum. My mom said she had a cherry tree in her backyard and growing up her mom would make cherry juice.
